Core & Restore Blue Carbon Project

Tasman Environmental Trust & Partners, 2021-ongoing

A ground-breaking cross sector collaboration helping to pioneer the blue carbon space in Aotearoa New Zealand. The project aims to measure, protect and restore blue carbon habitats in Te Tauihu and has been showcased in Aotearoa New Zealand’s inaugural Emissions Reduction Plan. It has major benefits for climate, resilience and biodiversity.

In collaboration with Tasman Environmental Trust, Cawthron Institute, Beca, Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, Nelson City Council (NCC), Manawhenua ki Mohua, HealthPost Nature Trust, the Department of Conservation and our many supporters.
